VR/.CS BREAKING NEWS!

  • WRAMS SHOW Vintage RC Category 2012-

The Vintage RC category for static display will be based on the VR/CS Concours rules.

- No SAM or converted free flight models will be accepted in this category.

- Referrals will be sent to the VR/CS web site for Concours rules.

- Flying Models will sponsor the category.

I am very excited about this announcement. I have been working with Dan since the 2011 WRAM show to obtain this category. As I told Dan, this category is the roots of the WRAM show. Dan and his committee agreed. PLEASE support this static display category by presenting your vintage RC plane either old or new. I would like this category to be the largest display category at the show. Bob Noll

2012 VRCS Theme Aircraft Announced:

On behalf of the VRCS Theme Plane Committee, I would like to announce that we we have come to an agreement that the VRCS Theme plane for 2012 will be

"Any design originally made for engines up to and including .10 size, or equivalent electric power (approx 200 watts)."

This it is hoped will give the small-plane and single-channel RC fans something to get their juices flowing.  Inexpensive, too!

Respectfully submitted,

Dave Platt, Chairman

WELCOME!
The Vintage RC Society (VR/CS) is an organization dedicated to the preservation of our radio control history - the achievements of those electronic and airframe design pioneers that made R/C one of the best hobby/sport in the world today. We do this through our semi-monthly newsletter, The Vintage Flier, and annual reunions and fly-ins.
OUR OBJECTIVE
Our primary objective is to fly the old R/C designs, those planes that were designed for radio control. We recommend the use of modern radios and motors for reliability although vintage radios can be used if they are reconditioned to today's reliability standards. Gas power can be replaced by electric power if desired.
WHAT AIRCRAFT ARE ELIGIBLE?       (Revised and Effective 1/1/08)
Any model airplane that employed radio control and was kitted, published or flown (attested to by the builder) and falls into one of the following classifications:
  • Pioneer: Prior to January 1, 1955
  • Classic: Prior to January 1, 1965
  • Nostalgia: 35 years old prior to the first of each calendar year.
